When you're not from Asia yourself and depend on English for information about an Asian star, it is a lot more difficult to discover some. However, I tried my best because I wanted to write an article about Chen Ran to introduce her to Park Si Hoo's fans being his co-star in the movie "Scent". Prior to the Paris Fashion Week in 2012 Lane Crawford had an interview with Chen Ran who was considered to be one of the most talked-about fashion icons on the Chinese Mainland. She was an alum of the Beijing Film Academy with extraordinary talent and expressive style and impeccable taste as well. Her fashion repertoire is as impressive as her acting career (she starred in renowned filmmaker Chen Kaige's "Caught in the Web"). She was endorsed by Chloé, has graced the cover of "Harper's Bazaar China" and fast becomig an ever-present regular on the global fashion week circuit.
When Chen Ran is abroad for work in a new country she likes to go to the different local boutiques to shop for trinkets. It's a wonderful thing to let her imagination run wild with clothing. She likes looks that are both natural and comfortable. She prefers to pair a cool jacket or accessory with a skirt or mini. During travelling she misses her dog the most. Her personal style is influenced by Alexa Chung and Kate Moss.

October 2010 Chen Ran accepted an offer of Chloé to customize jeans to be sold at auction and to be presented in Beijing for Vogue Fashion Night at Chloé's China World boutigque in order to benefit the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. According to Sina, as a result of the successful cooperation with Chen Ran, Chloé flew her to Paris to take part in the Paris Fashion Week.
It's not hard to understand why Chen Ran is called a rising star in China. She is a much loved actress and model. My impression of her is that of a very adorable woman. I can't wait to watch Park Si Hoo and Chen Ran together in movie "Scent". I'm confident they will show us a couple with chemistry.^^

DeleteWilma! You won't believe it, I read this article more than 5 times!^^ It's quite an entertaining especially with your slide VDO with PSH's song. They are both alike in their fasion sense and sometimes that can tell you about their personality as well. Thank you ,Wilma for your hard work.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just want to give you some story about this sweet Chen Ran for your information. Like PSH & every Chinese actors. They're all have their own weibo account to communicate with thier fans or followers. After she became PSH's counterpart in the movie, her folllowers have increased rapidly and that's included me too!^^ I sent her some nice messages to let her know how much we appreciate that she took a next step to work with Park Si Hoo. And I heart many fans on the sites in Shanghai had very good impression with her . I believe she probably feel the same way that PSH's fans are the nicest fans on earth!^^ Why I said that ? Because after she sent a little note on her Weibo that she's going to Busan. Many of us ( PSH's fans ) sent her a short messages for her safe trip & success of the shooting. And one Chinese fan who was going to Busan to support PSH had tell Chen Ran that she will see Chen Ran in Busan! And with a big surprise she got a reply message from Chen Ran and ask her if she wants to be her assistant during the shooting in Busan ? Of course no one will deny this golden opportunity. I can't give you much of the details but at the end Chen Ran told PSH that her assistant actually is his big fan who came to Busan to support him not her then PSH gave a big squeeze hug and they took photo together. This story is amazing but it give you many ideas about Chen Ran. I really like her personally then we just wait & see how good they look together on the big screen! And I already picture both of them in the Red carpet, Wilma! How stunting that picture will be ? The brightest stars in 2014!^^
