As soon as it was released, “Kimiwo…” swept various music charts, most notably snatching the number one spot on the daily charts at Tower Records’ Shibuya flagship store and second place on the overall album sales charts for Tower Records in general. Moreover, the album snagged third place on the Oricon daily CD charts.
Park Si Hoo first shared “You” (working title), the original Korean version of “Kimiwo,” at a fan meeting held in Yokohama on January 9. After many requests from Japanese fans, Park Si Hoo decided to record a Japanese version.
“You” was bound to strike a chord with his fans, as it is a song that Park Si Hoo penned himself to express his gratitude and love for his fans. He reportedly practiced a lot to master the pronunciation of the Japanese lyrics in “Kimiwo.” Park Si Hoo said, “I wanted to personally communicate my heart for fans in Japanese .”
He continued, “It’s hard to believe and it’s very moving that an official album that contains my voice has been released. Although it wasn’t easy to record in Japanese instead of Korean, I put my whole heart into singing, thinking about my fans who were waiting.”
Meanwhile, Park Si Hoo will star alongside actress Yoon Eun Hye in upcoming movie “After Love.” The film is slated for a simultaneous release in China, Japan, and Korea in the early half of this year.
